.our story

Home Santa Clara has been in our family for about 60 years, leaving a scent of life together, of a typical house from Algarve, and it means much love for all of us.

My grandparents met on these streets of Albufeira and dated for a few years before marrying.

My grandad was in Africa and my grandmother in Albufeira when their wedding happened at distance, so my grandmother signed the papers and went to live with my grandad at Porto Alexandre - Angola. They lived there for a few years, worked very hard, and had a baby boy, Fernando - a dream came true.

When Fernando reached age of 3 they returned to Portugal to what they've been investing all this time - their little house by the sea, their first home. Here Fernando was raised, and years later the house was, once again, filled with joy with the arrival of a baby girl, Ana Maria.

My father and aunt grew up playing on this street and on this beach right in front of it. They still remember when my grandmother had lunch ready and called them up to the house from the terrace. Years later, I was the one climbing these stairs up and down, back when I was too young to walk.

In here we were and still are all very happy. This house has witnessed a great and very important part of my family's history, starting from my grandparents and the family they've built. And what a great family we are/have?!

The house was remodeled but we wanted to keep the structure my grandparents left, their essence, and some marks from the past that help keeping their memory alive.
